Workflows

The HFR is a HD SSM 4X slow motion camera (up to 240fps in 1080p60).

So the camera can outputs the phases on 4x3G SDI , up to 1080p60 per SDI/phase, for a total of 240fps when combined in a replay server. But we can also pack all phases in a single 1x12G:

  • 1x12G in SQD (Square Division), ideal for RF, Streaming (SRT, NDI, etc.)
  • 1x12G in 2SI, can be ingested directly by EVS, Simply live, etc.

SSM basics

This is the basic workflow:

  • You configure the desired format (from 1080p23 to 1080p60, to get from 92fps to 240fps)
  • You configure 4 phases
  • You ingest 4 x 3G SDI 1080pXX in your replay server (EVS, Riedel Simply Live, GrassValley, etc.)

You can do the same, but limits the number of phases, so limit the number of SDI, and limit the final fps.

With SSM 3X, transporting 3 phases only (max 180 fps):

With SSM 2X, transporting 2 phases only (max 120 fps):

And a corner case is the SSM 1x:

  • Which is basically the "live feed"
  • But gives you a global shutter camera
  • With a C-mount lens

12G SQD

Even if our camera is HD (up to 1080p60), we have 4 x 12G SDI on the back.

Allowing us to pack the multiple phases in a single 12G SDI link.

We currently support only SQD packing, where the 4 x HD phases are packed in a square division, forming a single 12G SDI video output:

This allows you to transport the 4 phases (up to 4X1080p60 for 240fps), in a single 12G SDI link (instead of 4 x 3G SDI):

This also helps with fiber deployment (if your fiber supports 12G):

And it also opens the Wireless possibilities:

  • If your wireless transport support 12G
  • The SQD allows them to keep phases in sync
  • And the SQD, being basically 4 images also helps on compression, etc.

This opens SSM workflow in:

  • RF (Vislink, Domo, etc.)
  • 5G (Haivision, etc.)
  • But also any IP worklfow (SRT, NDI, etc.)

12G SQD with splitters

This suppose your server supports SQD natively.

If it's not the case, you can use any 12G to 4x 3G splitter:

Same with fiber workflows:

Same with wireless workflows:
